Berlin, Aug 11 (EFE) .- The annual rate of inflation in Germany stood at 1.7% in July, slightly above that of June, which stood at 1.6% Released today by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). P>
In May, the year-on-year rate had been 1.5%, which shows a consolidation of the rise. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 0.4% higher, according to the Wiesbaden-based company's final data, which confirm the first Estimates released at the end of July. P>
Food prices rose by 2.7% over the same month last year, while housing rent was at 1.8 Energy prices, on the other hand, rose below the average, by 0.9%. P>
The harmonized CPI for Germany, which is calculated with European Union (EU), was 1.5% in July on a year-on-year basis and 0.4% on the previous month.
