Peña Nieto plans to close government with more than four million new jobs

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto said today that his government (2012-2018) will close with more than four million jobs generated after adding 3.33 million in the first five years of administration.

Mexico, Nov 21 (EFE) .- Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto said today that his government (2012-2018) will close with more than four million jobs generated after adding 3.33 million in the first five years of administration.

The figure of 3.33 million in the first five years "exceeds what has been achieved" in any sexennium, period of government in Mexico, said Peña Grandson during the event Employment Strengthening at the official residence of Los Pinos.

Peña Nieto stressed that if the trend set in the creation of jobs for work, "we will manage to generate more than four million jobs in this administration", which will come to an end on November 30, 2018.

The Mexican president highlighted that in October Nearly 195,000 jobs were created, more than one million during the current year and a total of 3.33 million in the current government.

He attributed these results to macroeconomic stability, investment of the private sector, structural reforms and their impact in different areas of the economy, investment in communications infrastructure and public policies in favor of labor formality.

The president also celebrated the increase to the minimum wage announced today and that will rise from 80.04 to 88.36 pesos (4.25 to 4.70 dollars) for a day of eight hours.

"This is not a minor adjustment," said Peña Nieto, recalling that at the beginning of his administration, this indicator was 60 pesos (3.1 dollars), so the minimum wage and a 20% recovery in real terms.
