The OECD endorses Costa Rica on regulatory matters in the accession process

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) endorsed Costa Rica in terms of regulatory efficiency, within the framework of the country's accession process to that entity, reported Today the Government.

San Jose, Nov 9 (EFE) .- The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) endorsed Costa Rica in terms of regulatory efficiency, within the framework of the process of accession of the country to that entity, informed the Government today.

The approval was given by the Regulatory Policy Committee, which is the seventh in endorsing Costa Rica out of a total of 22 necessary for the country enter the OECD.

The other committees that have given their approval are Science and Technology, Labor and Social Affairs, Trade, Health, Agriculture, and Education.

"We can that today in Costa Rica we have managed to move towards a regulatory policy of the entire Government that promotes quality and efficiency in processes and regulations, "he said in a statement. Minister of Economy, Industry and Trade, Geannina Dinarte, informed.

The Government explained that in order to achieve regulatory approval, actions such as digitization of administrative procedures and services, an Analysis of Regulatory Impact and Administrative Loads; country.

The Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora, who is in charge of commanding the process of joining the OECD, commented that the work of the Costa Rican authorities demonstrates "the ability and willingness of the country to meet the highest standards to improve the quality of regulation issued by the State."

In May 2012, Costa Rica formally submitted its interest to join the OECD and in April 2015 the organization decided to invite it to start the formal process of accession, after which was designed and adopted, in July 2015, the roadmap that defines the terms and conditions to follow.

The OECD groups 35 member countries and its mission is to promote Policies that improve economic and social well-being.
