Brussels, Nov 8 (EFE) .- The Vice President of the European Commission and responsible for Employment Promotion, Jyrki Katainen, will visit Argentina and Brazil on November 9 and 10 to give a boost to the negotiations on the commercial treaty between the European Union and the Mercosur, informed the community executive today.

The visit will complement the round of negotiations that takes place in Brasilia and hopes to streamline the process so that both parties reach an agreement before the end of the year, the deadline set as limit, reminded the EC.

Community sources were shown "optimistic" before this possibility, since, they affirmed, "there is political will, involvement in the technical conversations and enough negotiation space".

Katainen will make tomorrow his First stop in Buenos Aires, where he will meet with the Argentine President, Mauricio Macri, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jorge Faurie, as well as with several members of the Parliament.

The next day, the Vice President of the Commission will travel to Brasilia to meet with the President of Brazil, Michel Temer, and with the Minister of Industry and Commerce. Exterior, Marcos Pereira.
