La Paz, Nov 15 (EFE) .- Bolivia will define its future energy policy and will seek agreements for the exploration and exploitation of its hydrocarbons from the Forum of Exporting Countries of Gas (FPEG), the minister of the area, Luis Alberto Sánchez, informed today.

In a press conference in La Paz, Sánchez said that his country "is going to define the new gas and oil policy of the next few years "in relation to the FPEG summit, which will take place next week in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz (east).

The authority assured that the FPEG will be a opportunity for Bolivia to meet with ministers and presidents of oil companies that "define the policies of their states."

Within the event, Bolivia plans to sign agreements with the Russian company Gazprom to consolidate investment links and for the formation of marketing and services firms.

It also has advanced conversations to consolidate investments with the company Zonagas, from Equatorial Guinea.

According to Sánchez, it is expected to sign agreements with "Qatar, the Arab Emirates and with Iran", with a view to continuing to work in the industrialization of Bolivian natural gas.

Bolivia will also promote 80 regions with hydrocarbon potential during the FPEG summit, with the aim of attracting capital for the exploration and exploitation of gas.

These areas belong to the basins of Madre de Dios (north) and Chaco (southeast), among others, which have a potential potential of 60 billion dollars. cubic feet of gas.

The FPEG will have five events in which seminars related to different topics on natural gas stand out and which will have its most important moment in the presidential meeting for the 24th.

On Tuesday 21st, the JODI-Gas event will be held, with the presence of representatives of organizations related to the gas and energy field. They will analyze the world of supply and demand.

On Wednesday 22 will be held an international seminar in which senior executives from different global oil companies will present presentations before an audience of 800 people.

On the same day there will be a meeting of hydrocarbon ministers of the member countries, in which the Declaration of Bolivia will be evaluated, the final document of the event, which will conclude on Friday with the presence in the debates of the presidents, headed by the host, Evo Morales.

According to Sánchez, the meeting will be "a total success", since for the JODI-Gas six members of a total of eight confirmed their presence and the arrival of 21 presidents of oil companies and 18 ministers of the countries that make up the Forum and the nations that will attend as observers.
